Instructor(s)

Senior Instructor Steven Broadley

My name is Steven Broadley and I am the senior course instructor for Notary Assist Inc. I opened Notary Assist Inc. and the notary training course to provide guidance that was not available when I created my notary practice. This course is designed to bring all of my years of experience into one place, tell you which stamps to buy, review pertinent legislation. A one-stop shop notary training experience. A little about me… I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012, having studied Political Science. So, after graduation, I did what any undergraduate political science student does, I enrolled in law school. I received my law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Selected by the Dean, I received the Gold Key Award for Osgoode students who have made an outstanding contribution to the Law School. I also received the Helen Grossman, QC Prize for the student who excels in his/her contribution to the Community and Legal Aid Services Program of Osgoode Hall Law School, the Legal and Literary Honour Award, the Ross McMillan Award, and the Masters Award. I was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2016. I articled at Jellinek Law Office Professional Corporation and focused on civil litigation – representing clients who have survived sexual assault in civil court. I focused on representing my clients through strong advocacy before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and through the many stages of a civil lawsuit. After my articling was completed, I transitioned into an in-house counsel role at Manulife. While at Manulife, I had the responsibility to review, negotiate, and create contracts and agreements to ensure regulatory compliance with British Columbia's Financial Institutions Commission's Bulletin INS-15-002 (FICOM Bulletin). I have also worked for Deloitte as a consultant on matters related to anti-terrorist financing and anti-money laundering. I follow the law on bitcoin, and am fascinated by how technology will help shape the future.
